Title: 11th Grade Apologetics Teacher
 
Job Summary:The Secondary Bible Teacher is responsible for providing biblically sound, Christ-centered instruction to middle and/or high school students. This position plays a vital role in the spiritual formation of students by teaching Scripture, biblical doctrine, and Christian worldview while encouraging personal faith development, discipleship, and application of biblical truth to daily life. The Bible Teacher is expected to model mature Christian faith and godly character in all aspects of school life.
Lines of Authority:Reports to Campus Ministry and Secondary Principals
Education:Bachelor’s Degree Required

  • Teachers may spend long hours standing, walking around the classroom, and carrying materials. Additionally, they may need to participate in activities such as recess supervision or field trips.
  • Teaching often involves emotional labor, as educators invest their emotions in supporting students, dealing with challenges, and celebrating successes. This can be both rewarding and draining, requiring mental resilience and self-care strategies.

Essential Functions
Essential functions of this position include the following.  Employees in this position perform some or all of the following functions.  Other duties may be assigned.
  1. Curriculum Development:
  • Develop and implement apologetic lessons that align with the school’s faith-based mission and academic objectives.
  • Plan engaging lessons that accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Design projects that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-expression
  • Integrate Bible stories, faith-based values, and character education into lessons
  1. Classroom Management:
  • Establish a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Encourage students to express and defend their faith.
  • Foster collaboration and teamwork among students
  1. Instruction and Assessment:
  • Teach fundamental apologetic skills, including debates, discussions and critical thinking rooted in scripture.
  • Provide constructive feedback to support academic and spiritual growth
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
  1. Spiritual Development
  • Model Christ-like behavior and values through actions and interactions with students. Exemplary behavior and character consistent with Christian values, serving as a positive role model for students both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Facilitate opportunities for students to explore and deepen their faith.
  1. Parent Communication and Collaboration:
  • . Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities
  • Collaborate with parents/guardians to support student learning and spiritual development
